Wyndham Garden San Diego near SeaWorld

Pros: Stayed 2 nights in first floor A144 during weekdays, and even extended our stay at this hotel by 1 more night. Greeted by Frank at the hotel lobby for check-in. He was kind. King bed and pillows were very comfortable. Dove shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the shower (which I love!) Good counter space in the bathroom sink. Parking was $20, which less than other hotels. Location was good- approx 10 mins from the airport and Little Italy. 10% off the Panera next to the hotel! Good management- received a text message on when we planned to check out. Cons: Check the refrigerator dial - it froze my food and water since it was set to 6. Unfortunately, we did see a roach on the wall by the end of our stay.

Throughly enjoyed my stay at Wyndham Garden, I had an extremely late check in time and the staff was super accommodating. We got to our room and unfortunately the fire alarm began beeping, we notified the staff and they quickly moved us to a new room. I truly appreciate it the attentiveness and accommodation of the staff. The rooms were very nice, up to date, clean and spacious. Great distance to shopping center and the beach. Everything from check in to check out was amazing & I would definitely stay here again!

Room was clean. I was met with a smile and greeting upon check-in. Hotel was in an older area near the sports arena, but there were plenty of places to get a meal. The airport, Sea World and the ocean are just a a few minutes away. It's a good budget hotel if you'd like to save a few bucks, but still want to be close to nearby attractions.

I stayed 5 nights at this hotel and it suited me perfectly. The room was clean and spacious. The location was conveniently located for my needs and within walking distance of the beach or you could hop on the bus to get there. The Panera Bread restaurant in the parking lot was excellent with great food and relaxed atmosphere. You get 10% off as a hotel guest. There is 24 hr security and I felt perfectly safe. I saw a couple of homeless in the neighbourhood but never near the hotel property.

I had a really lovely experience at the Wyndham San Diego near Sea World! The staff at check-in was so welcoming and genuinely kind. She knew the property inside and out and gave clear directions for navigating the buildings — plus she had such a great vibe! Professional and polite, but also casual, funny, and easygoing, which really lifted my mood after a long day of travel. (This was around 4–5PM on Tuesday, November 4 2025 — dark hair, tan skin — she deserves a shoutout!) Even the cleaning staff made my morning. I met two ladies in uniform on my way to my room, and they were so friendly. We chatted for a few minutes, and I even got to practice my Spanish! You can tell this hotel values hiring quality, personable people all around. Yes, the property is clearly under renovation, but it’s well-kept — neat, clean, and free of debris. Despite being right off a busy street, the complex itself was surprisingly quiet. Security seemed good too; I never felt unsafe, even returning from a concert after 11 PM. My room was spacious, spotless, and modern. I loved having a microwave and mini-fridge/freezer combo — super convenient when you’re traveling on a budget. There was a faint damp smell when I first walked in, but once I turned on the A/C, it cleared right up. Honestly, for an older coastal property, that’s completely understandable, and it’s clear they’re making impressive updates. I saw rooms below mine being outfitted with new furnishings — nice work, renovation team! No bugs, no mildew, no dust — just lots of clean linens and a sleek, simple design. The bed was super comfortable, and I appreciated the desk that slides out from under the entertainment center — perfect for working remotely before heading to my concert. Speaking of concerts — the location is amazing. It’s about a 7-minute walk to SOMA, a few minutes to Pechanga Arena, and maybe 10 minutes to a shopping center with Target, Ross, grocery stores, and dining options galore (there’s even a Panera in the parking lot and an In-N-Out nearby). I also walked to Old Town San Diego in about 30 minutes. The route was lively but safe — I had a great time exploring. I saw a mix of families, solo travelers like me, and small groups attending nearby events. Everyone seemed relaxed and happy to be there. Overall, I had a great stay and really don’t understand the negative reviews from months ago. My experience was fantastic for the price (about $105 after tax). The room was huge — I had a standard double-queen — and everything worked as expected. Bottom line: If they keep up the great service and renovations, this place is going to be a total gem in San Diego. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Hotel by itself nice, location is safe. Room service never show up for even change the towels. There where yelling when they cleaning other room, they don't care if other people sleeping at 7 am

We stayed at this hotel, purposely to be close to SeaWorld. It was clean and comfortable. Panera was right in the parking lot. It was great and convenient. Pool and Jacuzzi were very clean. We enjoyed our stay.

I recently stayed at a hotel near the beach in San Diego, and the experience was nothing short of amazing.
